Turkey was featured as a travel destination in over 4000 articles, TV shows and radio programs in the UK press in 2009 – Some TV firsts include: The Travel Channel filmed its first programmes on “Essential Istanbul” and “Eastern Turkey”; “Inside Luxury Travel” has also filmed in Istanbul for the first time; whilst BBC and ITV have filmed shows including the first Blue Peter summer road trip in Turkey since the 1970s.
